Oria AI is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, retain, and protect your information, including Health Data, when you use our app and services.
This Privacy Policy applies to Oria AI ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by TheOther Intelligence LLC. It describes how we handle your personal information when you use our website, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and related services.
We collect information you choose to provide or connect, which may include:
We use your information to provide, personalize, and improve Oria AI, including Timeline, coaching, insights, friend features, and conversations with Oria. This includes sending certain data to third-party AI services to generate responses and insights (see Section 6). We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Health Data for advertising.
Oria AI accesses and collects Health Data so we can show your day, generate wellness insights, support coaching, and answer questions in Ask Oria. We access Health Data only after you grant permission. You can refuse or later revoke that permission in the app, in Health Connect (Android), in Apple Health (iOS), or by disconnecting Fitbit / Google Health.
After you grant permission, the app reads Health Data on the device (or from Google Health, if connected) to power Timeline, Home / Coach Brief, scheduled briefings, coaching progress, sleep and activity insights, and Ask Oria tool calls. When a feature needs it, we transmit summarized Health Data (for example daily steps, sleep duration, heart-rate summaries, workout summaries, and nutrition from food photos) to our servers and may store it with your account. We also store mood check-ins and food-photo nutrition analyses you create in the app. If you join a friend challenge, we store the daily metric you submit for that challenge (sleep, steps, or exercise minutes) and share that metric with the friends in the challenge.
We do not sell Health Data. We do not use Health Data for advertising or for credit, insurance, or employment decisions. We do not use Health Data for any purpose other than providing and improving the Oria AI features described in this policy.
We may share Health Data (1) with third-party AI providers when you use AI features that need that context (see Section 6), (2) with friends you invite to a challenge, for the metric that challenge uses, or (3) when required by law. Service providers that host our backend (Firebase / Google Cloud) process Health Data on our behalf under confidentiality terms. Revoking Health Connect, Apple Health, or Fitbit / Google Health permission stops new reads. It does not by itself delete Health Data we already stored with your account; use account deletion or email us to remove that stored data.
When you connect your Google account, we request access only to your Google Calendar data. We use the following scopes:
We use Google user data only to provide or improve the calendar features within the Oria AI app. We do not use Google user data for advertising, analytics, selling, or any purpose other than providing your calendar viewing and event management functionality. We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy.
Oria AI uses third-party large language model (LLM) providers to power its AI features. Before any personal data is sent to these services, the app will ask for your explicit consent.

We do not send your email address, password, payment information, or device identifiers to these AI providers.
Data sent to these providers is used solely to generate AI-powered responses and insights within the Oria AI app. We access these services through their API platforms, which are governed by their respective data processing agreements. Under these agreements, the providers do not use your data to train or improve their models.
The app will clearly inform you and request your permission before any personal data is shared with third-party AI services. You may withdraw your consent at any time through the app's settings, though this may limit the availability of certain AI-powered features.
All data transmitted to third-party AI providers is encrypted in transit. We have reviewed the privacy practices of each provider and confirm that they provide protections for user data consistent with or equivalent to those described in this Privacy Policy. We use API-level access with data processing terms that restrict providers from using your data beyond fulfilling our requests.
We do not sell your data. We may share information only: (1) with your consent, (2) with service providers (including the third-party AI providers described in Section 6) who help us operate our services under strict confidentiality, (3) with friends you choose to share with (for example a challenge metric), or (4) when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We store and retain user data, including Health Data we have collected, as follows.
If you disconnect a health source or revoke Health Connect / Apple Health permission, we stop collecting new Health Data from that source. Previously stored Health Data remains until you delete it or delete your account, as described above.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can access, correct, or delete your data and control connected sources through the app or by contacting us. You can revoke Health Data access in Health Connect, Apple Health, or by disconnecting Fitbit / Google Health. To delete your Oria AI account and associated data, including stored Health Data, use oria.me/delete-account, the in-app Delete Account control, or email privacy@theother.me. We will respond to requests in accordance with applicable law.
Our services are not intended for users under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
